Ant McPartlin enjoyed an outing with his pregnant wife and pal Jamie Redknapp last week ahead of becoming a first-time father later this year.

The Britain's Got Talent host, 48, held wife Anne-Marie Corbett's hand as he stepped out for a catch up with his pal with a big smile on his face on Friday, with pregnant mum-of-two Anne-Marie, 46, cradling her growing bump as she enjoyed some lunch at The River Cafe in London.

Former Liverpool FC footballer Jamie was joined by his wife Frida Andersson for the couples date. The A League of Their Own star kept things casual in combat trousers and trainers, while Frida looked chic in dark jeans, a cream blazer and black loafers. Jamie, who like Ant is twice-married, has a wealth of parenting experience he could have shared with Ant on Friday.

The retired sports star seven children in his life thanks to his two marriages. The football pundit shares two teenage sons with his ex-wife Louise Redknapp and became a father for the third time in November 2021, when Frida gave birth to their first child together, son Raphael.

Dad-of-three Jamie is a doting step-dad to his spouse's kids from her first marriage, just like dad-to-be Ant is step-dad to his second wife's children. Jamie's wife Frida has four children from her marriage to American hedge fund tycoon Jonathan Lourie: a girl and three boys.

Earlier this week, Simon Cowell dished out some pearls of wisdom on fatherhood to Ant, telling him: "It will be life-changing." Simon, who became a father himself when he welcomed his son Eric in 2014, revealed that he and Ant, 48, have struck up a real bond after years of working closely together, often chatting about the ins and outs of parenting.

When quizzed about the tight-knit group of Britain's Got Talent judges and presenters, Simon reminisced: "Bruno, I've known for probably 40 years. Amanda I've worked with for more than 20 years, Alesha I did a show with in America. We have a real friendship, it's the same with Ant and Dec. Over the years, we have got really, really close, and it makes the show so much more fun to do."

He went on to share his excitement about Ant's upcoming new role as a father, telling the Mirror: "When I heard Ant was going to become a dad, I told him it would be the best thing that ever happened to him. I basically said the first nine months are a bit strange because they can't talk to you."

"I remember saying to Lauren about Eric at one point: 'I don't think he likes me'. But then after a year everything changes and it's hilarious, it's great fun, and you'll really really enjoy it. And it will be life-changing for him. I'm really happy for both of them." And what if the baby decides to make an appearance during the live shows? Simon joked: "What will happen if the baby arrives during the live shows? I'll probably have to host with Dec. Why not?"

Earlier this year, Ant opened up about his family life and admitted he and Declan Donnelly had called time on one of their popular ITV series in order to spend more time with their respective families. Since 2002, Ant and Dec, both 48, have hosted multiple series of their award-winning show Saturday Night Takeaway. However, the last series, which came to an end earlier this month, marks a pause in proceedings from the Geordie favourites.

"We love making Saturday Night Takeaway, but reaching the milestone of 20 series seemed like the perfect time to pause for a little while and catch our breath," Ant confessed last year when it was first announced Saturday Night Takeaway would be coming to an end.

In conversation in February, ahead of the final series premiering, Ant further expanded on the reasoning driving their decision to briefly shelve the hit show. "On a more personal level, part of the reason we're pausing Takeaway is we need a break ourselves, and we need to spend some time with our family," admitted the renowned television personality.

Expressing his sentiments to Fault magazine, the 48-year-old dad-to-be continued: "We've both got children that we need to spend time with for a little bit. We need time to think and, and time to step back and look at the bigger picture and just see where we are now."

Ant shares two stepchildren with his wife Anne-Marie, whom he married in a romantic ceremony in 2021. The couple's journey to happiness has been a rollercoaster of emotions. The Britain's Got Talent host ended his marriage with makeup artist Lisa Armstrong in 2018 and found love again with his former PA, Anne-Marie, just six months later, causing quite the stir among fans and media alike.

Despite all the rumours, Ant has always maintained that there was no overlap or wrongdoing. "I don't feel the need to defend Anne-Marie but I will say you've got to be careful judging other people's relationships or what you think is the truth that's been put out there," Ant candidly expressed in an interview with The Sun.

Pals close to the broadcaster have previously clarified that Anne-Marie was not involved in his previous marital breakdown, nor was Ant a factor in the end of her own marriage. Before becoming Ant's other half, Anne-Marie was his personal assistant and had two daughters with her ex-husband, businessman Scott Corbett. Their marriage came to an end in 2017, and now Ant has embraced the role of stepfather.

In a heart-to-heart with The Telegraph, Ant opened up about his experiences as a stepdad while he and his on-screen partner Dec launched an exciting new media initiative for disadvantaged youths in collaboration with The Prince's Trust. He opened up about the social consciousness of his step-daughters, aged 13 and 15, admitting they're more aware than he was at their age. "I've got two step-daughters, 13 and 15 and they are more socially aware at that age than I was in my mid-20s," he confessed. "Than I still am."

He went on to say, "It's not going to be our generation that saves the world. Look at Greta Thunberg, single-handedly almost making the world aware of climate change. It's that kind of energy that this generation has got and they'll save the rest of us. We're just trying to make it easier for them."
