Starbucks is making a big change to its menu - and Rewards members can try them out from today (April 25).
While many of us cannot live without our daily cups of tea or frothy coffee, as the weather has started turning brighter and warming, it's approaching that time of year where drinks fans swap warm mugs for iced-filled beverages. And when it comes to deciding on a new summer drink to accompany you through a long day, Starbucks remains a firm favourite.
The coffee giant has launched a brand new range of drinks ahead of the summer season. The worldwide chain is bringing back a fan favourite which discontinued in the US, and will be available in the UK from today (April 25) for Rewards members, and everyone else from May 2.
A cold fruit juice drink named the Very Berry Hibiscus flavour Refresha will make its debut in 1,100 Starbucks chains. The popular Refresha flavour vanished from US Starbucks menus in 2021, but there has been a demand for its return ever since. On the UK menu it will be priced at £4.35 for a tall version of the drink.
Also making a comeback is the Mango Dragonfruit Starbucks Refresha - priced at £4.75 for a tall version. It is said to be a perfect blend of mango and dragon fruit flavours, this tropical beverage is hand-shaken with ice and dried dragon fruit pieces.
Morrisons is slashing over 130 prices on its saver-products from todayA new Refresha flavour has also been revealed and will launch in UK stores - Dragon Coconut Starbucks Refresha. It is a mango and dragon fruit flavour base; shaken by hand with coconut drink, ice, and dried dragon fruit pieces. It will set you back £4.75 for a tall drink.
Also new to the menu is one for dessert fans - a "silky-smooth" Creme Brulee Inspired Cream Cold Foam to a certain 'je ne sais quois' to coffee orders. Starbucks stated that the new menu item was created by Starbucks expert beverage developers, born from a love of baking desserts with grandparents in France during childhood.
You can pair the new cold foam with a number of drinks to enjoy: the Crème Brulée x Brown Sugar Frappuccino blended beverage, the Crème Brulée x Iced Brown Sugar Oat Shaken Espresso, and the Crème Brulée x Cold Brew. Cold foam is a mix of whole milk, whipped cream and vanilla flavouring. This ice-cold Starbucks innovation can be added to any of your favourite iced coffees," a Starbucks spokesperson added.
Estelle Buffet, Product Developer EMEA (Beverage), said: "Crème Brulée has always had a special place in my heart. The idea to incorporate this iconic dessert into our beverages came from a desire to elevate our drinks menu by adding a new and creative textural element."
Estelle continued: "After experimenting with various options and flavours, the classic Crème Brulée stood out due to its delicious, velvety twist, and the Crème Brulée inspired Cream Cold Foam was born. This idea was further enriched by my heritage and the fond memories of cooking traditional French desserts with my grandmother during my childhood."
To get your hands on the new and returning drinks from April 25, you must be a Starbucks Rewards member. It is free to sign up and you can earn extra perks and stars for every £1 you spend. Once you reach 150 stars you will get rewards.
The new range will be available for those who are not a member from May 2, as well as via Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat.
