Olly Murs and Ally McCoist lost their cool with each other during a recent star-studded football match, with the pair almost rowing on the pitch as the Rangers legend confronted the singer over his 'silly' comments.

Things got heated in a 35-goal thriller during the talkSport Trophy, with Ally and Olly getting pretty passionate towards the end of the game. The radio station organised a match between an All Stars team, including X Factor finalist Olly, and its Breakfast crew, headed up by retired footballer Ally.

Ally's early risers won a high scoring game 18-17 against their rivals, who were coached by ex-West Ham and Newcastle boss Alan Pardew and Dance With Me Tonight singer Olly. Olly even brought himself on to take a key penalty, but he missed and it cost them the game.

Ally wasn't too happy with Olly's trash talk during the game, and he went straight for Olly after the whistle. The Rangers legend stood his ground and reminded Olly of his penalty miss, which didn't help Olly's mood. It was like when McCoist had a famous argument with Celtic's Neil Lennon after a fiery Scottish Cup replay in 2011, reports the Daily Record.

Things were all good between the two stars once the game ended, with Ally grinning soon after and hinting there's no bad blood between them. He said: "The game was settled by an Olly Murs missed penalty - who'd have thought that? I thought some of his comments during the game were ridiculous, he came over and wanted some confrontation and he got it. I reminded him about the missed penalty and he didn't take it too well." Olly himself confessed: "I'll take responsibility, I came on, took a penalty and thought I was making talkSPORT history."

Away from playing football, Olly is currently preparing to become a father for the first time. The former Voice UK coach, 39 recently threw his pregnant wife Amelia Murs a Greggs-themed baby shower ahead of the fitness model giving birth to their child later this year.

The singer teamed up with the bakery chain for the special occasion and the lavish event included a 'Preggs' themed van in the brand's signature blue and orange colours. It was accompanied by decorative boxes that featured phrases such as 'what's in your oven?' and signs congratulating the couple.

Whilst napkins at the event read: "Preggs - the Murs the merrier'. Food from the truck was served in personalised paper bags, which read: "Preggs - Satisfying your pastry cravings. " There were also references to Olly's songs on the paper bags at the gathering. A note on the bag gave a nod to his song Heart Skips a Beat, which was released in 2011. It read: "Caution: Your heart will skip, skip, skip a beat". Whilst another referenced his song Troublemaker, which came out in 2011. At the bottom of the bag, a message read: "Olly and Amelia, congrats on your troublebaker."
