Chloe Madeley has hit out at negative comments about her approach to co-parenting with estranged husband James Haskell.
The 36-year-old reality star is the proud mother of one-year-old daughter Bodhi - who she shares with 39-year-old rugby star James. Chloe and James were married in 2018 but shocked fans last year when they announced they’d taken the decision to end their marriage. Now the former husband and wife are working together to raise their young daughter together.
Taking to social media on Friday, Chloe embarked on a Q&A with fans - and shared some insights into her co-parenting journey while responding to one of the questions. A fan contacted the star to observe: “Your co-parenting is inspiring” alongside a heart-hand emoji. And while reacting to the comment, Chloe hit out at those who try to criticise the way she and James are raising Bodhi.
Chloe wrote: “I sometimes get heat when I post about James and I coparenting from people saying it's not possible for everyone and I just want to be VERY clear that A) I know not everyone is in a position to be able to co parent without colossal amounts of stress, if at all. B) for me personally, it is the result of MANY heartbreaking conversations in the early days, and often very strained conversations in the current days."
She continued: "However, I still think it is important to show people who are scared to split because of the horror stories around co-parenting that it really CAN be done. And to those who say 'It's only easy now because there's nobody else in the picture yet.' You're rude and unsurprisingly, you don't really know what you're talking about. Please stop spreading your negativity and fear."
James Haskell reveals furious Boxing Day bust up with Richard MadeleyEarlier this year, Chloe explained how her life had changed since she and James had decided to call time on their five-year relationship. She said: “Since James and I made the decision to draw a line under it, I’ve felt really free, happy and calm. It’s interesting. I think people hear about it and they automatically think it’s a negative thing. But in our case, it’s a very positive decision and it’s good. I’ve just felt a lot lighter.”
Earlier this week, the duo reunited and enjoyed a lunch out together with their baby daughter - with many fans delighted to see the family together. Responding to images Chloe shared on Instagram, one fan wrote: "Well done on keeping the family unit strong. I don’t know your in-depth circumstances of course but doing better than others I know of separated, lovely to see a happy little girl with her parents. Hope that’s ok to say!" And another complimented: "She’s just so cute! What a gorgeous little girl."
And on Friday, Chloe and James were with Bodhi again - for an outing to London Zoo. Sharing a snap of herself and James smiling - but Bodhi looking less than impressed - Chloe wrote in a caption: "My little modern family ... well that’s one way to lose these walking blues, diamonds on the soles of her shoes."
Their romance came to an end soon after James was spotted in public with a mystery blonde - sparking speculation about the state of their relationship. Revealing they had decided to split in a statement released last October, Chloe wrote: "James and I mutually decided to separate at the end of September 2023. We had not planned on releasing a statement at this time - certainly not while the television show was airing - but constant speculation about our marriage has, unfortunately, forced our hand. Beyond this statement, we will not be speaking about this matter publicly, and we would request privacy at this time. Our sole focus now is our beautiful daughter. We shall continue to co-parent with nothing but love."
