Who is Frank Skinner and what is his net worth?

Frank was born on January 28, 1957 in West Bromwich, making him 67 years old.

His birth name is Chris Collins, though bizarrely his parents always called him Graham, and he was raised Roman Catholic.

The Oldbury native was a huge fan of Elvis Presley, George Formby and Muhammad Ali during childhood, and also learned to play the banjo and ukulele.

He began doing stand-up comedy in 1987 at the age of 20, and made his TV debut a year later.

His stage name was taken from a member of his dad's dominoes team.

Comedy variety show Packet Of Three, which ran between 1991 and 1992 on Channel 4, was his first proper TV project.

After winning a Perrier Award in 1991, the next years brought numerous successes for Frank, who even got his own chat show by the end of the decade.

He received an MBE for services to entertainment in 2023.

As of 2024, Frank is understood to be worth in excess of £6m.

That will no doubt continue to grow every time England play in a football tournament as the royalties roll in for his part in the ever-popular Three Lions anthem.

What is Frank Skinner best known for?

Frank's best-loved TV shows include his and David Baddiel's Fantasy Football League, BBC chat show Room 101, The Frank Skinner Show and his improvised talk show called Baddiel And Skinner Unplanned.

His self-titled chat show ran from 1995 to 1998 and ended amid reports the BBC had turned down his demand to be paid £20m.

Is Frank Skinner married?

Frank is not married but he's been with comedy agent girlfriend Cath Mason since 2001.

He claims she's turned down his proposals four times, because she "thinks marriage puts a hoodoo on a relationship".

They have an 11-year-old son together named Buzz Cody.

Is Frank Skinner friends with David Baddiel?

Frank and David are still very close friends and have remained so ever since they first starred together on Fantasy Football League.

The pair actually still live on the same street, with just 15 doors separating them.

Skinner has commented before how their friendship has never waned.

Why is Frank Skinner leaving Absolute radio?

Frank's show on Absolute radio launched in 2009, winning a cult following with its mix of witty banter and observations on current events, all mixed in with good music.

But on March 23, 2024, Frank shockingly revealed that the show has been axed after 15 years.

He announced the news during his regular Saturday breakfast show this morning — adding that it wasn’t his decision to depart.

In a pre-recorded segment for The Frank Skinner Show, he revealed: “You know every year, about this time, we've just celebrated our 15th anniversary on the show, so obviously that means the new contract is coming, and every year I do self-deprecating jokes about the fact that we probably won't get it renewed? Guess what?! Yeah, we didn't!

"So, um, we're not just going now, I'm not going to say bye and that's the end [...] we've got some notice to serve, but um…. yeah, but no, that's it!

"We had a good run but I realise that in recent times but I am ever-more becoming Grandad from The Simpsons, but even so, I'm not going to pretend I took it well.”

His final episode will air in May.
