Bargain Hunt fans have been left fuming over host Caroline Hawley's behaviour on the show.

Viewers couldn't cope with the antiques expert's "annoying" habit. The star was as enthusiastic as ever as she appeared on Thursday's episode as she helped the teams look for antiques while in Devon.

She appeared alongside John Cameron as they were on hand to offer up their expertise as the red and blue team went head to head. But it was Caroline who seemed to get on fans' nerves as she encouraged her team.

Presenter Charlie Ross gave the red team the task to find a profitable item made with a cast or iron mould. He then set the blue team on a mission to find an item with a lens.

The red team managed to locate their items in half an hour which caused Caroline to yell out: "We did it!" However fans of the show instantly took to social media to say how irritating they found the shouting.

One person wrote: "Shouty Hawley assaulting my ears early doors #BargainHunt," as a second said: "It's shouty yet again. #BargainHunt." A third viewer commented: "Ffs sake this is going to be loud." While a fourth declared: "Annoyingly loud #BargainHunt."

At the end of the task, the red team managed to find a cast iron toilet roll holder for just £10. They also purchased a crystal glass decanter for £70 and an antique soup ladle for £101. Meanwhile, the blue team got their hands on a retro fire extinguisher lamp for £75, a tableware set for £50 and a magnifying glass for £11.

When the red team sold their items they made a profit of £16 overall. However, the blue team managed to do better as they made a large profit of £77 which meant they won the episode.

This comes as Bargain Hunt guests were shocked to discover that one of their antiques had ended up getting chipped behind-the-scenes ahead of the item being auctioned off on the show. In another episode, the red team consisted of friends Ivor and Joe and they chose a ceramic Beswick sheepdog for one of their items.

Catherine, who was helping the team, had said: "I think that would sell well." She suggested that they "might make a little bit" from private buyers who had a similar dog themselves. Ivor in particular had shown interest in the ornament, which cost them £75. The contestant later expressed the opinion, ahead of the auction, that it would be the item that would make the team the most profit out of their three items.

However the item was later valued by auctioneer Colin Young as he said: "We've got an issue, I'm afraid. When I first looked at it, I thought it was worth £40 to £60. And then I saw some damage on it. And so my estimate has cascaded down to £10 to £20."

Host Eric Knowles stated about the antique, which appeared to have a piece missing on its tongue: "I should point out that this damage obviously happened in transit." The host further commented: "So the ruling is that we're gonna take that top estimate as being a guaranteed price to the team."
