Are you guilty of pressing the button to get off the bus more than once?
Public transport in the UK carries a bit of a bad rep, especially when it comes to buses. If you have been waiting in the rain for hours, only for a packed bus to drive straight past you - you'll know how frustrating the underfunded service has become. However, if you're lucky enough to get a seat on your morning commute, there is a common mistake you're probably making before stepping off.
Luckily, a bus driver has settled the never-ending debate when it comes to pressing the stop button - and whether you really need to ring the bell more than once.
Taking to TikTok, a bus driver and mum-of-two has revealed that whenever a passenger presses the stop button, a green bell icon appears on their screen. So, even if it's busy on board and you don't think they've heard the little buzz - fear not.
"There is no need to do this when you want to get off at the next stop," the driver adds, demonstrating how some passengers will continuously keep pressing the bell. "Don't panic."

The video has attracted a whopping 9.5 million views and 850,000 likes at the time of writing, and thousands couldn't wait to share their thoughts. "Oh my god, I was wondering this for years," one viewer wrote. Another agreed, commenting: "That's pretty cool." While a third added: "Love this feature."
However, the comment section was flooded by unhappy passengers claiming their bus driver always drives past their stop - even if they have pressed the bell. "I did it and y'all didn't stop," one passenger fumed.
"And yet my bus driver still misses my stop every day," another commented. A third asked: "So why does my driver still not stop at my stop even when I've pressed the bell and [I] am stood by the doors?"
