England take on Brazil for the first time in over six years as they welcome the South American side to Wembley Stadium.

The Three Lions do battle with the Selecao on Saturday evening. England fans could potentially be set to see a very different side to usual. Captain Harry Kane has already been ruled out for the clash - and could even miss next week’s game with Belgium.

Kane is not the only star sidelined. Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka has been forced to pull out of the squad, while Cole Palmer and Jordan Henderson are also dealing with their own problems. Mirror Football takes a look at how England could line-up against Brazil.

The current international break was intended to give Southgate a good idea over how his stars were performing. Fortunately, he still has his number one goalkeeper to call on in Jordan Pickford and the Everton stopper should retain his place between the sticks.

There should be a somewhat familiar look to the defence stationed in front of him. Harry Maguire remains a trusted custodian for Southgate so will likely start.

Manchester City duo John Stones and Kyle Walker should also be named in England’s defence for the game after stellar seasons for the reigning Premier League champions. The left-back berth could see the first tweak.

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw is currently out injured, while Kieran Trippier has not been named in the latest squad. That could open up an opportunity for Ben Chilwell, the Chelsea man who hasn't played for England since last September.

The Three Lions' midfield is slightly easier to pick. Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice have been in sensational form for Real Madrid and Arsenal and are fit to play so seem like the most obvious candidates.

Phil Foden has also been in stunning form for Manchester City so could occupy the No.10 position. He would have the opportunity to supply a number of talented forwards should he be selected.

With Saka and Kane out, that could give opportunities to a few other stars. Anthony Gordon has shone across what has been a difficult season for Newcastle this term and could be stationed on the right in Saka’s place.

On the other flank, Marcus Rashford could be an option for Southgate. He is enduring a tricky campaign so a goal for the Three Lions could spark his campaign into life.

The attention then turns to Kane’s potential replacement. Ollie Watkins started the last international against North Macedonia so seems a good bet to lead the line once again this time around.

England predicted XI vs Brazil: Jordan Pickford; Kyle Walker, John Stones, Harry Maguire, Ben Chilwell; Declan Rice, Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden; Anthony Gordon, Ollie Watkins, Marcus Rashford.
