The musical project was founded in the early 90s, while Skinner was still a teenager, however, no music would be released until the early 2000s.
Their debut album, Original Pirate Material, is now considered one of the best British hip-hop albums of all time.
Famously stepping away from the limelight, Mike retired from the group in 2011 after becoming sick of the weight a music career brought.
He revealed at the time that he“genuinely never wanted to rap again.”
The singer-songwriter started therapy after spiralling and struggling with his mental health.
Last year The Streets made their comeback with both a film and their first album in twelve years called The Darker the Shadow the Brighter the Light.
