Harry Kane will return to Bayern Munich to continue his recovery from an ankle injury, with the England captain now confirmed as missing Tuesday's friendly against Belgium.

Kane picked up the injury as Bayern beat Darmstadt last weekend, with the 30-year-old forced off after colliding with a post. Bayern said at the time Kane was taken off as a "precautionary measure" and he joined up with England despite the knock.

However, he will now go back to Germany after England boss Gareth Southgate revealed Kane would not be able to feature against Belgium. " Harry Kane won't be fit for Tuesday so he will go back to his club," Southgate said following England's 1-0 loss to Brazil on Saturday.

"With Kyle Walker, we are not sure. He was feeling some tightness and it was something we couldn't take a chance on. Cole Palmer and Jordan Henderson trained this morning, but we have to see how they come through that next phase."

Reflecting on the result, Southgate added: "There were lots of very good performances. It is a top level game and we have controlled long parts of it. I don't like losing football matches but the difference was one moment we should have defended better.

"We had as many attempts as them on goal but in the end it is that ruthless moment that decides the game. We've had a lot of players go on, a couple of debuts and some really important individual performances for us.

"With 15 minutes to go there were lots of changes and I think at the point the crowd were really pleased with the performance. Of course when you lose the game it turns negative but we have to keep the context with that."

Seventeen-year-old forward Endrick, who is set to join Real Madrid next summer, scored the winning goal for Brazil and wrote his name into the history books in the process. Endrick is now the youngest male goalscorer at Wembley and was compared to Brazil legend Romario by Joe Cole.

Discussing Endrick's goal, the former England international told Channel 4 : "He won't score an easier goal. I think he's got a bit of Romario about him.

"I was speaking to Gilberto [Silva] about his body shape and the way he tucks it away, the way he struck the ball, a little bit of Romario about him and the joy on his face, the youngest player ever to score at Wembley for club or country, fantastic for him."
