Louis Walsh admits Simon Cowell hasn't spoken to him since backstabbing dig

Louis Walsh has revealed he hasn't spoken to Simon Cowell since his Celebrity Big Brother stint.

The 71-year-old music mogul was part of the star-studded CBB reboot which ended with Ibiza Weekender star David Potts taking the crown on Friday, March 22, 2024.

During his stint in the ITV reality show, Louis told his housemates all about his failed friendship with former X Factor boss Simon and Cheryl's name was even thrown into the mix.

Last week, before leaving the show in fourth place, Louis unleashed his anger towards Simon and claimed he had sabotaged his chances of winning The X Factor in 2008.

According to him, Simon helped Cheryl's act Alexandra Burke with the singing competition by inviting Beyoncé to perform with her, while Louis was managing boy band JLS.

While they may have been innocent and all in good fun, Louis' comments backfired as he admitted that Simon hadn't reached out to him since he left the Celebrity Big Brother house when This Morning presenter Ben Shephard questioned him about their relationship on Monday.

"Has Simon been in touch?", Ben asked before Louis simply replied with a firm "no." As Ben prodded him, the Irish producer and TV personality defended Simon and insisted that he "loves" working with the fellow mogul.

"No, because it's not his show", he went on, in reference to Celebrity Big Brother before adding: "I love Simon, I love working with him."

But Simon isn't the only star Louis is seemingly trying to make amends with as he also shared his biggest "regret" and admitted he was apologetic about taking aim at Ronan Keating while he was still in the reality program.

Celebrity Big Brother viewers may recall that Louis took a swipe at Ronan when his song played in the house and claimed the singer failed to reach chart success without him, telling fellow contestant and X Factor's Sharon Osbourne: "He hasn’t had a hit record since I left. He sacked me."

Louis backtracked while he was on the set of This Morning and explained that he wanted to be wholeheartedly honest during his stay in the house, as opposed to his other housemates who, according to him, were all "performing" for the cameras.

"I wasn't being malicious, and I do regret saying stuff about people. I forgot the cameras were on me", Louis said. "I was being honest and not malicious. I didn't want to fake anything so I sat back and watched everything - I watched everyone else perform."

He then delved into his relationship with Ronan, whom he famously managed before getting the axe, adding he was regretful to have lashed out against the Boyzone star on our screens.

"With Ronan and I, it was all a little bit of panto. I kind of regret saying what I did. I loved working with him. He was a great worker, and he's very driven, and very good - very talented. He did sack me, so you know, I don't say great things about him but I don't resent him and he's a good person. I have to put that out there. It's all just a bit of panto between us."
