A tweet allegedly posted by boxer Ryan Garcia has gone viral, with people claiming the 2021 lightweight champion predicted the tragic Baltimore bridge collapse before it happened.

Huge cargo ship Dali lost control and ploughed into the Francis Scott Key Bridge in the early hours of Tuesday, causing a large section of the 1.6-mile-long bridge to fall into the Patapsco River. Six missing construction workers who were working on the bridge fixing potholes are presumed dead, authorities have said. The search for their bodies was suspended overnight but resumed Wednesday morning, local time.

As rescue efforts continue, a video posted on TikTok has claimed that professional boxer Garcia predicted the disaster before it even happened. The video, which has been viewed more than 290,000 times, shows a post on X (formally Twitter ) which Garcia allegedly posted. "SOMETHING BAD IS GOING TO HAPPEN IN BALTIMORE MARYLAND ON MARCH 26TH 2024," the post reads.

Garcia did post on X about an earthquake in June. In a post published on March 6 the boxer said: "June 6th Earthquake BAD."

"Some things come to my mind seeing this. How long before they realized the boat has lost all control. Did they try to warn people on the radio. The bodies of the missing workers have not yet been recovered, but they are presumed to have died given the water’s depth and the amount of time that has passed since the crash, he said. Jeffrey Pritzker, executive vice president of Brawner Builders, who employed the workers on the bridge, said the crew was working in the middle of the bridge when it came down.

“This was so completely unforeseen,” Mr Pritzker said. “We don’t know what else to say. We take such great pride in safety, and we have cones and signs and lights and barriers and flaggers.”
