HEINZ has left fans devastated after discontinuing a handy tea time staple.

The company has opted to remove items from supermarket shelves across the UK despite its popularity with Brits.

Heinz is renowned for its sauces, sides, and soups - in particular its baked beans.

But when the Five Beans variety was brought out, it offered something different and exciting for your average shopper.

Packed with haricot, pinto, cannellini, borlotti and red kidney beans in Heinz's famous rich, tomatoey sauce, they were perfect for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The snap pot style as opposed to a can is also favoured by customers, as it enables them to pop it in the microwave as it is.

But after one Heinz fan noticed they could no longer find the Five Beans Snap Pots on shop shelves, they decided to reach out to the company for clarity on the situation.

In response to a Heinz post on X (formerly Twitter), they said: "The Heinz 5 bean snap pots appear to have been discontinued. Will they be making a comeback or are they gone for good?"

Heinz's official account duly responded, confirming the product "is no longer produced in the snap pot".

It remains unclear what the reasons behind the decision were.

The Sun has reached out to Heinz for comment.

Heinz did, however, add that you can still buy Heinz's Five Beans in a can.

That means all hope is not lost for those wanting to still enjoy the product.

You can currently buy a single 415g tin for £1.40 in Asda, Sainsbury's Tesco, and Waitrose.

Morrisons have priced them at £1.80, so it's always worth checking to see where you can get them cheaper before buying.

In-store availability, prices and promotions may also vary from those online.

The standard variety of Heinz Baked Beanz Snap Pots are also still available on shelves.

You can pick them up for as little as £2.75 at Tesco and Aldi right now.

Fans of Heinz Five Beans have previously praised them for their versatility in a variety of meals.

One person who left a customer review online said: "These are the best-tinned beans available. Nutritious and tasty."

Another added: "These are amazing, the sauce is tasty and they make a filling meal. Nothing compares to them and won't buy any other brand."

A third said: "More protein, more nutritional value, more taste. Regular baked beans don't do it for me anymore."

Heinz still sells snap pots for normal baked beans, as well as ones with no added sugar.

Tesco has priced match them will Aldi, listing them for £2.75.
