Here's Eve's thought's on the fabulous new addition to the Charlotte Tilbury family- even her partner noticed the 'glowing' change.

There’s something about having a sun-kissed glow that boosts your confidence by tenfold. Throughout the winter, I often don’t feel my best self because I’m a bit too pale for my liking, especially in my face which doesn’t tan easily, but have always been a little scared to try tanning drops on my face out of fear that I’ll do it badly and I’ll end up with a streaky face. I usually just deal with it begrudgingly until my first sunny holiday (thankfully, with olive skin I tan quite easily).

But when the Queen of Glow, Charlotte Tilbury, dropped her first range of tanning drops, I put my fears to one side because if anyone can give my face a natural sun- kissed glow in a bottle without UV rays, it’s Charlotte.

The drops are available in two shades - fair to medium and tan to deep - and come in a beautiful bronze coloured bottle with a pipette applicator, which is super easy to use and is actually pretty precise - no leaking, dripping, you can easily control how much comes out. The liquid itself is stunning thanks to its pearlescent formula that shimmers in the glass pipette and on your hand once it’s applied. You can tell it’s going to give a gorgeous glow that glistens in the light.

With a multitude of ways to apply the drops onto your face (avoiding eyes and lips), I chose - as a tanning drops novice - to mix the fair-medium formula into my moisturiser, although you can apply before or after your moisturiser directly to your face. The drops were thicker than water but lighter than cream, making them really easy to not only place onto my but rub in without fear of them trickling down my arm.

Because I wanted a relatively noticeable glow, I squeeze 6-7 drops into my moisturiser (9-12 if you want a deep bronze) and rubbed my tan-infused cream into my face in circular motions. I was pleasantly surprised to find there was no biscuity scent (as there so often is with fake tan) - in fact none at all - plus my skin felt pretty fresh, despite having product on. I suspect that’s down to the bronzing drops’ formula including hyaluronic acid and a skin barrier booster.

Washing my hands immediately after use, it was time to wait for the results - six to eight hours is the time frame for it to develop, which for me was a day’s work. As I clocked off, I went into my bathroom to see the results from the tan and was delighted to find that my pale alabaster skin was now bronzed and sunkissed, as if I’ve just stepped off the plane from Ibiza. To make sure it wasn’t just the lighting or the placebo effect, I asked for my partner’s opinion - “Wow, your face looks tanned!” was his response.

Pleased was an understatement. And as the days went on, my complexion remained relatively bronzed, only fading on day three.

Now, one thing I will say is that I need to work on my application because unfortunately I did experience some streaking, especially on my forehead, which I entirely put down to my inexperience with tanning drops. Next time I will try out Charlotte’s recommendation, which is to “Buff Beautiful Skin Island Glow Easy Tanning Drops in with the

This streaking didn’t stop me from enjoying my newfound confidence with the glow Charlotte Tilbury’s Beautiful Skin Island Glow Easy Tanning Drops and thankfully I was able to even it out with my ‘summer shade’ foundation.
