You might not expect ten-year-old Prince George to have much in common with 64-year-old Sarah Ferguson - the former wife of his great uncle Prince Andrew.
However, it turns out that since George was a very young child he has shared an unusual interest with Sarah - and this little-known passion is also something that his father Prince William, and his uncle Prince Harry are seriously knowledgeable about.
Sarah Ferguson - author, businesswoman, and charity patron - has long held this hobby, and revealed this surprising fact about herself during an interview to promote one of the romance novels she has authored in recent years.
Sarah was asked by her co-author and pal Marguerite Kaye in the interview to reveal "something about yourself that might surprise everyone, even me?" Among the surprising tidbits was Sarah's shared passion with young George: flying helicopters.
While the second in line to the throne is a little young to be flying helicopters himself, he has already shown a keen interest in them, per Women and Home.
Meghan Markle 'to unleash her own memoirs' as Prince Harry's drops next weekBack in 2017, when George was just a toddler, he visited Germany and Poland with his parents, and at the end of the trip, the young prince was spotted getting seriously excited over helicopters at Hamburg Airport.
"George was excited, with the first helicopter he wanted to sit in the cockpit, and then he wanted to sit in the next one, he already knew there was a difference between them," Antoine van Gent, who was present, revealed to the Telegraph.
William - who worked as an air ambulance pilot in East Anglia when he was younger - even showed George the basics of how one would be flown and the young royal was reportedly allowed to try a helmet on.
William qualified as a Search and Rescue pilot back in 2010 in the RAF and his brother Prince Harry served as an Apache helicopter pilot during one of his tours of Afghanistan - and is reported to have kept up the skill since moving to California.
Sarah renewed her helicopter license back in 2021 because she was due to take part in a TV show that explored Australian nature, and revealed some other surprising fun facts about herself in her interview with her co-author: "I gallop horses. I don’t cook. I adore people. I find humour in all I do. I climb mountains. I doodle avidly. I have written 78 books."
