Jayden Daniels, the Heisman Trophy winner, has dismissed worries about his elbow injury ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft after a shocking photo raised concerns.

Daniels had a fantastic season playing college football in 2023. On top of college football's premier individual award throwing for 3,812 yards and 40 touchdowns, and he also ran for 1,134 yards and got an extra 10 scores across 12 games.

Thanks to him leading his school to win 9 out of 12 matches, he became the third LSU football player - after Billy Cannon and Joe Burrow, who currently plays for Cincinnati Bengals - to win the Heisman Trophy.

In addition to Caleb Williams, who many think will be the top pick, and Drake Maye from UNC, most observers have Daniels as one of the best up-and-coming quarterbacks to be taken as early as the top three of the draft in Detroit, which happens at the end of April.

There is a lot of talk that the Chicago Bears will take Williams with the first overall selection, while other teams known for needing a quarterback like the Washington Commanders and New England Patriots have second and third pick overall.

However Daniels stock as a potential high pick took a hit when a photo of the quarterback throwing a football gained a lot of attention this week because his right elbow looked strange.

There was concern over a large lump on Daniels' throwing elbow, but doctors said it looked like bursitis, a painful but minor condition that affects fluid-filled sacs near joints. Even with the inflammation, Daniels started every game for LSU over the last two years, winning the Heisman Trophy after leading the Tigers to a 9-3 record.

And Daniels wasn't worried about it and said on social media: "My elbow is perfectly fine .. stop the cap!"

It isn't the first time Daniels has had to address speculation during the draft process. Earlier this offseason, there were rumours that figures in Daniels' camp didn't want him to be selected by the Patriots at three - something the quarterback denied.

Daniels's representation, EAG Sports Management, via CEO Denise White, dismissed the suggestions, posting on X: "Your rumors are wrong. So now we post rumors and not substantiated facts?

"Jayden's camp will be happy wherever he lands and is excited for him to be a part of the @nfl. Let's get it right @jasrifootball and @PhilAPerry. Come to his publicist next time you aren't sure! ".

Daniels will learn of his future at the 2024 NFL Draft, to be held April 25-27.
