Singer Britney Spears has let fans into her beauty regime as she revealed she has undergone laser treatment on her face.

The Toxic hitmaker recently dyed her hair a lighter blonde shade as she indulges in some 'self care' and updated fans on Instagram. The 42-year-old revealed that she's a fan of all her recent treatments though as the new lighter hair do isn't to her taste as she revealed she hates her new hair and wants to change it.

Sharing a selfie on Instagram, Britney wrote: "I haven’t been really good with my self-care… I haven’t done my nails in two months and I did my first ever laser treatment for my face only a week ago. It kinda hurt though… not a fan…"

She continued as she criticised her new lighter hair as she said it's "actually too white blonde so I’m fixing it tomorrow !!! I do look waaay younger it kinda creeps me out…". (sic) The criticism didn't stop there either as she then added that "my eyes look extremely big now, but I honestly don’t like it. I woke up sick in bed drinking ginger trying to figure this out…"

The changes to her appearance come after earlier this month the Hit Me Baby singer compared herself to Dawson's Creek actress Katie Holmes. Showing off her toned physique in a pink bikini as she lounged by the pool, Britney wrote on Instagram : "My first high waisted bathing suit… Feeling very Katie Holmes today!!! Ps sun's out buns out !!!" Britney used the soundtrack of Beyonce's new country track Texas Hold 'Em for the clip as she shared a series of images, donning a pink and green striped hat in another set of pictures.

Last year Britney and ex-husband Sam Asghari split with him later revealing why it was they decided to separate after simply "growing apart". Sam had nothing but kind words to say about his ex-wife as he explained: "It was a blessing to be able to share life with someone for a long time. And people grow apart and people move on." Speaking to People magazine, Sam said he will never say anything bad about his relationship with Britney. He explained: "I never understood when people part ways [and] they talk badly about each other.

"That's something I'm never going to do because I had nothing but an amazing experience and a great life, and that's always going to be part of my life, a chapter of my life." Sam filed for divorce from Britney citing "irreconcilable differences".

After the news went public in September last year, the Toxic hitmaker released a statement on Instagram. "As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together," she said. "6 years is a long time to be with someone so, I'm a little shocked but … I'm not here to explain why because its honestly nobody’s business !!! But, I couldn't take the pain anymore honestly !!!"
