Beans lovers are in uproar as Heinz has bid farewell to a popular product that makes midweek meals much quicker.

There are certain favourites that are just never going to leave our regular tea rotation - especially those comfort foods that require only a tiny bit of effort to whip up after a long, hard day at work.

Beans on toast is definitely for most Brits one of those meals that you can always return to when you need a tasty and easy meal that is also going to fill you up nicely, and for many people, no one does beans quite like Heinz.

This is why some fans of the company were left devastated when it decided to scrap one version of a product in their range, and the die-hard beans fanatics can't help but question why their favourite option was cut from the shelves.

The realisation that Heinz had scrapped their Five Beans option in the popular microwavable snap pot range - which provides you with the perfect one-person serving - dawned on fans and was confirmed when one raised the question on X - formerly Twitter.

The Five Beans range from Heinz elevates their famous baked beans - using five different varieties with their second-to-none tomato sauce. Containing pinto, cannellini, borlotti, red kidney beans, and haricot beans, the range packs a real protein punch and quickly won favour with fans.

Dismayed that they were unable to find their Five Beans favourite in the microwavable container in the shops anymore, one user asked for confirmation about the fate of the range, writing: "The Heinz 5 bean snap pots appears to have been discontinued. Will they be making a comeback or are they gone for good?"

The official Heinz account quickly explained that they aren't producing the Five Beans range in microwavable snap pots anymore, but you can still grab the range in cans from your local shops. While the company didn't explain exactly what their motivation was for discontinuing the snap pack version, if the Five Beans range is your preferred go-to for an easy tea, then you will have to make do with the tinned variety.

At Waitrose, a 415g tin will set you back a mere £1.40, and it costs the same at Tesco, but if you do your weekly shop at Sainsbury's then you can snag a tin for just £1.10.
