ANYONE hunting for some automated help around the home should head to Amazon.

The Eufy G50 robot vacuum cleaner has been reduced from £199.99 to £149.99 and it's now a best-seller on the site.

I spotted this budget-friendly vac on Amazon's best-selling robot vacuums page (which is generally where you'll find items that are cheaper than usual.

You'll find plenty of devices with discounted prices there, but often from obscure-sounding brands - by contrast, Eufy is one of the biggest robot vacuum brands on the market.

How to de-clutter if you have a beauty stash to last you a lifetimeHow to de-clutter if you have a beauty stash to last you a lifetime

The Sun's Shopping team has tried and tested a number of Eufy robot vacuums, including the Robovac G30 and the Robovac X8, and verdicts have been positive across the board.

The G50 is missing a few of the extra features of those pricier, higher-end vacuums - but I've taken a look through the specs and at the new price point of £150 it strikes me as a total bargain.

Firstly, its roller brush has got an Active Detangling function. I know this doesn't sound like a big deal, but I own the cheaper Eufy 30C, which doesn't have this.

Let me tell you: picking out those tangled carpet hair is laborious, time-consuming and not a lot of fun.

Secondly, it's a remarkably quiet robot vacuum, with an advertised sound level of 55 decibels. Not bad for a cheap device: they're often notoriously noisy.

As much as people like the idea of putting their feet up and getting someone (or rather something) to do the vacuuming for them, robot vacuums can be pretty distracting.

The Eufy G50 lacks the laser mapping you'll get on more expensive models like the X8 Pro (also on sale for £399.99, down from £599.99) but if you've got a smaller home that doesn't need a strategic approach, you'll probably be fine.

The real strengths to the G50 all, ultimately, lie in the Eufy smartphone app, where you can adjust the cleaner's suction strength and schedule cleaning times.

That's perfect if you want your robot servant to do its thing while you're out at work.

There's no need to panic about the mishaps you'll come back to: like all robot vacs, the G50 has a built-in sensory array to avoid collisions with walls, furniture or sleeping pets.

Amazon shoppers have left overwhelmingly positive reviews, and an average rating of 4.4 out of 5.

One buyer describes this Eufy robot vac as 'life-changing', adding: '[My] house is always clean, [there's] less dust everywhere, carpet fluffier... I'm very very happy!'

Another shopper writes: 'I've been amazed and overjoyed by this, it's beyond easy to use... The app is great to use, really straightforward, and I love that it sends you a message if there's a problem rather than just beeping like a maniac like our last one did.'

Amazon haven't marked a specific end time on this discount, but it's badged as a 'Limited-time deal'. These usually run for less than a week.
