I've spent years searching for a reliable body scrub and moisturiser that would solve my skin troubles, and after seeing Sol de Janeiro's Bum Bum Body Scrub and Brazilian Bum Bum Cream all over my social media, I just had to give them a try. My main priority was finding products that would help my dry skin and prevent ingrown hairs, but I also wanted something that had a delicious scent perfect for summer.

I was delighted to discover Cult Beauty was offering both the Bum Bum Body Scrub and Brazilian Bum Bum Cream at a discount with a free gift thrown in over the May Bank Holiday weekend. The large scrub cost me £31.20 and the large cream £38.40, and much to my delight the free gift was a small bottle of the Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 62 Mist - a body perfume that matches the scent used in the scrub and cream.

The range can also be shopped at Boots where the 'legendary' Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Cream costs £32.40 for the smaller 150ml size and the body scrub is £35.10. LookFantastic has the Bum Bum Cream in the larger 240ml size for £38.45.

Sol de Janeiro's Bum Bum Body Scrub is inspired by the 'golden sands of Rio' and has an ultra-fine texture made up of sugar crystals and crushed cupuaçu seeds that help to buff away dead skin cells and boost circulation. The scrub contains coconut and açai butter that nourishes and conditions the body.

The first thing I noticed when I opened the vibrant orange tub was the smell - it's the scent of the Cheirosa 62 Mist which comprises salted caramel, pistachio and vanilla. It's not like anything I've smelt before and I was instantly in love with the delicious fragrance - within seconds my bathroom was filled with the summery scent.

I found the scrub a little hard to scoop out of the tub with my hands at first, but after applying more water onto them I was able to get a good amount on my palms. I began massaging the scrub all over my wet body, taking the time to concentrate on areas of dryness and on my legs and bikini line where I had a few ingrown hairs.

I've used body scrubs in the past and have found the majority contain bits that are so big that the product hurts my skin even when massaging it gently. Some can be so messy, too, leaving sand-like residue all over the shower tray. I'm pleased to report that Sol de Janeiro's body scrub is so fine that it didn't irritate my skin at all and it nicely washed down the drain without leaving any mess.

After my shower, I reached for Sol de Janeiro's Brazilian Bum Bum Cream and hoped it would impress me just as much as the scrub. The cream is a rich moisturiser that can be used all over the body, not just on your bum as the name suggests. My main areas of concern are my arms and legs which can get quite dry, especially in summer when I'm shaving my legs more frequently and the sun is beating down on my bare skin, so I was interested to see if it would give my limbs some much-needed hydration.

Like with the body scrub, as soon as I opened the tub I was hit by the same gorgeous scent. The cream contains ingredients from South America, bringing together nourishing cupuaçu butter, antioxidant-rich açaí, conditioning coconut oil and the native Amazonian plant guaraná which is said to firm, smooth and brighten the skin. The latter is also one of the most potent forms of caffeine on the planet which gives your skin the ultimate boost.

Despite looking quite heavy in the tub, I was happy to discover that the cream has a light silky texture. It's not the quickest moisturiser to absorb into the skin, but after spending a couple of minutes massaging the cream into my skin in circular motions, it was fully absorbed and there were no white marks left on my skin.

I was able to get dressed a few minutes later and before heading out I used a few spritzes of the Cheirosa 62 mist over my body. It's safe to say I felt like a summery goddess with soft, glowing skin and a delicious aroma all over my body.

Considering I used the Sol de Janeiro products in the morning, I was absolutely blown away to find that when I woke up the next day I could still smell the delicious Cheirosa 62 scent and my body still felt super soft and hydrated. I was also delighted to see that the few ingrown hairs on my legs and bikini line were gone.

I have used the products several times since and can happily say I will be using the body scrub, cream and body mist for a long time to come. Cult Beauty is selling the Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Body Scrub (220g) for £39 and the Brazilian Bum Bum Cream (240ml) for £48. You can buy the matching Cheirosa 62 Mist at Cult Beauty for £38 for the 240ml bottle.
