Olly Murs admits he felt lonely without his estranged brother Ben.

It's a little-known tidbit that The X Factor star is actually a twin, but hasn't seen his sibling since their blazing row back in 2009. He'd missed his brother's wedding and best man duties to appear on the competition show, where he found in front of ITV viewers.

He hasn't really spoken that much about his relationship with Ben, but has now opened up about feeling intense loneliness for years. The Heart Skips A Beat hitmaker reveals some of that sadness subsided after meeting his now wife and baby mum Amelia Tank.

"When you've been in the womb with someone, you struggle with loneliness," Olly told The Times on Saturday. "I had to deal with it when my twin and I went on our separate lives. I was desperate to be around people, could not sit in a room alone."

He detailed how his wife changed his mindset, adding: "When I was single for three years, I had to learn to like my own company. That's when I met Amelia. I always thought that spark when you fall in love was a load of Disney rubbish.

"People would talk about that moment and you'd go, 'Really?' And when it does happen, it's not like it is in films, of course. When that person walks into your life and changes how you feel, you know. She's gorgeous, the love of my life. We're a good team."

Olly said the secret to happiness was "following your dream" and finding a job that you love, explaining that his wife works for Lloyds bank and "loves it". He's worked hard since The X Factor and credits coming from a council estate for his work ethic. "My dad was a toolmaker, up every day at 4am, and watching both my parents work so hard, that lifestyle was instilled in me," he said. Olly also admitted he was "good with money".

But he faced disaster playing Deal Or No Deal in 2007 before finding fame, hoping to win £250,000 to set himself up for life. Things went horribly wrong on the show, turning down a £22,000 deal from the banker and eventually leaving with just £10 in his pocket.

"I was devastated. Later I went on the show as a celebrity and won 50p. Between two shows half a million was up for grabs, and I won £10.50," he told The Times. Concluding his chat, Olly revealed his aim in life is to be "a great husband and father".
