A man broke his leg after falling underneath a train during a sickening attack at a London Underground station.

The man was set upon by another male and woman at Canning Town station at about 7pm on Thursday, May 16. He had used the escalator at the station when the woman pushed him in the back, causing him to stumble.

When the man reached the platform, he was pushed from behind with force by a man with enough force that he fell between the platform and train, ending in him breaking his leg. The man also punched the victim several times in the face, breaking his nose.

Police released images of a man and a woman who they want to speak with. The images were taken around the time of the attack.

"Officers believe the people in the images may have information that could help with their investigation," the British Transport Police (BTP) said in a statement. The Mirror has contacted the BTP for comment.
