Jamie Carragher conducted a hilarious live interview with Jadon Sancho while drunk after downing pints with Borussia Dortmund fans in The Yellow Wall.
Carragher, 46, is a big part of the all-star team which covers the Champions League for CBS Sports alongside Kate Abdo, Thierry Henry and Micah Richards. But he swapped the studio for the home end ahead of Dortmund's semi-final first leg match against Paris Saint-Germain.
After sharing videos of him drinking and dancing with fans throughout the night, Carragher was let loose with a microphone following the match, which ended 1-0 to Dortmund.
Upon being asked if he was in any state to work, Carragher quipped: “That's actually a good point because I haven't had too much to eat. I had a cheeseburger at about half two when I got to the hotel. It might explain why I might be slurring my words because I've had about eight pints in The Yellow Wall! I've got a new family, a family of friends, we all look after each other. I give them a few bob after half-time!”
After explaining his sozzled state to viewers, Carragher then called Sancho over for a chat with him and Peter Schmeichel - much to the amusement of his colleagues watching back in the studio.
World Cup hero wants Man Utd move as doubts over Harry Maguire's future growRichards roared with laughter as Carragher put his arm around Sancho before telling the player all about his experience in The Yellow Wall. Carragher then went on to praise Sancho's performance and told him that Henry, Richards and Alessandro Del Piero were all "raving" about how he played - much to the amusement of Henry, who had his head in his hands on the desk.
Sancho replied: “I appreciate it. But it's not over. We still got to go to Paris and hopefully we can get the job done there. But I appreciate the compliments.”

Sancho returned to Dortmund on loan in January after falling out with Erik ten Hag but the winger has struggled to find form on a consistent basis ever since joining Manchester United for £73million back in the summer of 2021.
The England star was in dazzling form on the night, though, and tormented PSG. Before batting away a request from Carragher to share a few pints if Dortmund reach the Champions League final at Wembley, Sancho was asked by Schmeichel if the plan was for him to stay at Dortmund long-term.
Sancho gave little away with his answer, insisting: “I really don’t know. I’m just focused on just the present right now.”
