One show star who has been notably absent is Giovanni Pernice after he quit Strictly amid a legal war between himself and three of his former dance partners.
He reportedly left them "traumatised" following their stint on the dance contest - which he has denied.
However, in the wake of the scandal, Strictly bosses are planning to boost the show's feelgood factor by signing up a "real community hero".
Bank Of Dave star Dave Fishwick, 52, who featured in two popular documentaries, has bagged a spot.
A source said: “Dave is a real community hero and the best of British.
