The forward, originally from Lambeth, South London, began his youth career with the Gunners in 1985.

He went on to score 46 goals during a seven-year stint in the senior team from 1988.

Campbell earned four caps for the England U-21s and one for England B.

He holds the record of being the English player who has scored the most goals in the Premier League without earning a senior cap for his country.

In September 1992 he was on stand-by for a friendly against Spain, but this was the nearest he got to being in the senior squad.

His club career saw him move to Nottingham Forest, Everton and West Bromwich Albion.

Campbell also had a short stint at Turkish side Trabzonspor, who paid £2.5 million for him in 1998.

Since retiring in 2007, he has moved into a media career, including appearances as a pundit on Sky Sports.
