Virgin Atlantic is set to restart its service between London Heathrow and Tel Aviv from September 5, the company has confirmed.

The airline will offer a daily service in both directions, using Airbus A330 planes for the journey. Following the outbreak of hostilities with Hamas, numerous airlines halted flights to Israel last October. Wizz Air was back in the skies over Israel by March, with British Airways following suit in April.

However, easyJet has decided to continue its pause on flights to Israel until at least the end of October. In addition, Virgin Atlantic has unveiled a fresh codeshare agreement with Israel's national carrier El Al, designed to streamline travel for passengers of both airlines.

Juha Jarvinen, the Chief Commercial Officer at Virgin Atlantic, said: "Our return to Tel Aviv on September 5 will be welcome news for customers who have enjoyed our service since 2019, and this time round it'll be strengthened by our new codeshare partnership with El Al."
