England is set to play their first of two friendly matches tonight (Monday, June 3) as the country gears up for the 2024 European Championship. Gareth Southgate’s team face Bosnia-Herzegovina at Newcastle’s St. James’ Park, with the game set to kick off at 7.45pm.
Gareth Southgate has less than a week in which to test his players before naming the final 26-man squad for the Euros. After tonight’s game, England will welcome Iceland to Wembley Stadium for the second friendly on June 7.
They will then travel to Germany, where they face Serbia in their first group game on June 16. England are the favourites to win the tournament ahead of France and Germany, in part thanks to a bevvy of young stars like Jude Bellingham, who lifted the Champions League trophy with Real Madrid on Saturday.
