Lash serum advertisements pop up everywhere on my social media and all with impressive before and after results. Showing users with short lashes that are seemingly transformed into long, thick and fuller flutters in just a matter of weeks, I've always been pretty skeptical about how well these eyelash serums work. Can one product really make that much difference?

Well, after using the UKLASH Eyelash Growth Serum everyday for three months, the answer is absolutely yes. Before discovering UKLASH, I'd tested a few different lash serums over the years as a beauty writer, but I'd never had great results. Some didn't even make a dent when it came to improving thickness and length and a quick fix product to longer lashes seemed too good to be true.

I first heard of the UKLASH Eyelash Growth Serum as it is a celebrity favourite, having being praised by the likes of Molly-Mae Hague and Sophie Habboo, who both have enviable lashes. My eyelashes are fairly straight and light in colour so if I'm not wearing mascara, they have little definition. It wasn't until I started using the UKLASH Eyelash Serum that I noticed a huge difference in how they looked without curling or makeup.

What are the results from using UKLASH Eyelash Growth Serum?

You can use the UKLASH Eyelash Growth Serum at any time during the day but I started using it every night before bed as soon as I got it. I did use it a couple of times in the morning but if you use eye makeup, I'd recommend applying it in the evening so you don't have to wait for it to dry.

The brand say you'll be able to see a difference in as little as 25 days and in my experience, that's when I started to notice a change. I was a little worried that the product would irritate my eyes or leave them feeling sticky but you only need a small amount applied to the lash line and you can barely feel it.

Around the one month mark is when my lashes began to look fuller and longer - I've now been using the UKLASH Eyelash Growth Serum religiously for three months and my eyelashes look the best they ever have. They're so much longer than they were that when I'm not wearing mascara you can easily see my eyelashes, which is where I was struggling before.

When I am wearing mascara, they now reach the bottoms of my eyebrows and I've even had a few times where - dare I say it - they've been almost too long to even need the lengthening mascara I've been so accustomed to use. I feel way more confident without mascara and it'll be great for holidays and warm weather for a no-makeup look.

At £38 for a 3ml bottle the product isn't exactly cheap, but as it is a formula that is in close contact with your eyes, it isn't something I would want to scrimp on. I'm also nowhere close to finishing the serum so I would estimate that it will last you at least six months before needing to be replaced.

You can subscribe on the UKLASH website and get the serum for £32.30 instead, or find it at Boots, Sephora and FeelUnique. For comparison, top-rated RapidLash Eyelash Enhancing Serum costs £40 and The Ordinary's Multi-Peptide Lash & Brow Serum is £14 so there are products on either end of the price spectrum.

How to use the UKLASH Eyelash Growth Serum

The brand recommend that you apply one stroke of the serum to your upper lash line with your eyes closed. One dip is sufficient for both eyes. For best results, apply in the PM and allow the serum to work overnight. If applying in the AM - make sure the serum has fully dried before following with your makeup routine.

For the first three months, I used this product every day, but since then, I've been using it every other day just to maintain my current length.

What to consider before using UKLASH Eyelash Growth Serum

While the formula itself didn't irritate my eyes when used as it should, there were a couple of times I was heavy-handed with the application and found the product seeped a little into my eyes making them water. You really don't need a lot of liquid on the brush before applying to your lash line.

As with all lash serums there are potential side effects to be aware of, with the most noted one being a darkening on the skin where the product has sat. Personally, I haven't experienced this or any redness when using the UKLASH serum, but it is worth considering if you have sensitive skin.

Your eyelashes grow, fall out and then get replaced meaning you will have to continue using the UKLASH serum if you want to keep seeing results. It's not a one-use and the job is done type of product.

However, if the results are as impressive as the ones I've had after using the UKLASH serum I think spending 30 seconds in the evening applying it is well worth it. It works out around £6 per month when used for six months which is considerably cheaper than lash lifts or extensions, plus less damaging to your natural lashes.
