With energy bills through the roof, many households are thinking about ways to keep warm for less without popping the heating on this winter.

But, if your portable heater isn’t quite doing the trick, one problem which may be stopping your home from heating up are gaps found around doors and windows which can allow cold air to enter the home and warm air to escape.

Luckily, we’ve spotted this £7.99 draught excluder from the Range which is designed to stop the heat from escaping, helping to keep a home warmer and more energy efficient - ultimately leading to lower energy bills.

Dave Raval, a heating and insulation expert for LoftZone recently told The Sun; “The best energy saving is the energy you don’t use, so looking at where heat may be escaping is key."

He added: "One cold evening, go around with your hand across every window and door and feel for draughts. Older houses typically lose more heat through gaps in doors, floorboards, and windows, so it’s vital to plug these gaps."

The affordable draught excluder from The Range features thick, durable fabric which is perfect for keeping out sharp draughts of cold air. Once you’ve found the area where you believe the drought is coming from, simply cover it with the excluder to stop the hot air from escaping, or cold air from sneaking in.

If you don't mind spending slightly more, we've spotted this stylish £14 velvet fabric draught excluder from Dunelm to go perfectly with your modern interior.

There's also plenty of options on Amazon too which come in all shapes, sizes and prices.

As well as a draught excluder, it may also be worth buying some cheap adhesive foam strips which can also be used to block cold air - and you can shop for it on Amazon here.
