FRANK LAMPARD and Craig Bellamy are leading contenders for the Burnley job.

That's according to bookmakers talkSPORT BET, who've installed the pair as frontrunners for the vacant position at Turf Moor.

The Clarets are looking to rebuild once again after their relegation from the Premier League.

And they'll have to do it without Vincent Kompany, who left to join Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich.

Kompany's departure has come as somewhat of a surprise to many after a lacklustre two-year spell at Anderlecht and top-flight relegation despite Burnley's £100m outlay last summer.

Nevertheless, Burnley are in the market for a new permanent manager and it's Frank Lampard and Craig Bellamy leading the remaining candidates at 1/2 and 2/1 respectively.

Lampard, 45 has been out of work since his short-term contract at Chelsea expired in June 2023.

The England legend has taken on some challenging roles since guiding Derby County to the Championship play-off final in 2019 having been sacked by both Chelsea and Everton.

He remains the odds-on favourite for the Burnley position, but has been tentatively linked with Birmingham City over the last few days.

Bellamy is next at 2/1 having opted against following Vincent Kompany to Bayern Munich.

The Club has placed Bellamy as acting head coach until a permanent appointment is made, but SunSport understand that some inside the club are lobbying for the Welshman to get the role on a full-time basis.

Scott Parker (5/1) is also considered to be a strong contender for the vacant position having achieved promotions with both Fulham and Bournemouth before things took a nosedive in the Premier League.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Steve Cooper are available at 12/1 and 14/1, ahead of 16/1 duo Carlos Corberan and Liam Rosenior.
