Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding day in 2018 has been hailed as "a miserable day" by a royal photographer, as the couple are said to have been "determined" to keep the press at bay.
The couple wed in a lavish affair in May 2018 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, two years before the couple later stepped back from the royal family and their royal duties. However, a royal expert has now claimed the couple did themselves "a disservice" by trying to keep the media away from their wedding.
Royal author and expert Tom Quinn exclusively told The Mirror: "Veteran Sun photographer, Arthur Edwards’ recent statement that Harry and Meghan‘s wedding was miserable will surprise no one who recalls the couple’s determination to keep the press at bay."

And his wedding day was an occasion on which he had a real chance to get the press on side, especially someone like Arthur Edwards who was well-known and liked by the late Queen."

Tom Quinn's comments come in response to a damning statement from royal photographer Arthur Edwards, who told The Sun: "The day was a miserable day. I can tell you now it was the worst royal wedding I ever did. Because Harry was determined to keep the newspapers away from it as much as possible."
The comments come six years after the couple wed, and after they completed a successful three-day trip to Nigeria last month. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have also hinted that there could be future trips for the couple, as in a message thanking the people of Nigeria following their return home, they described it as "the first of many trips".

According to reports, the Duchess of Sussex penned a letter to a Nigerian King, with the former Suits star thanking him for his country’s hospitality during her recent trip where she was grateful to get the opportunity to understand her heritage after she discovered through a DNA test that she has 43% Nigerian ancestry.
Meghan wrote to the Oluwu of Iso, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, saying: "Your Imperial Majesty, Thank you for your warm welcome to Nigeria... Our visit to Nigeria was important for many reasons, but not least because it gave us an opportunity to explore and understand my heritage, which extends to our children. We look forward to coming back home one day."
