A woman has been left outraged after being ordered to remove her plants from her garden because they're 'not real'. She explained how she received a passive-aggressive note from her neighbour claiming she is bringing down the value of the street by having fake plants in her yard.

Gobsmacked, she shared the note on Reddit to see what others thought about it. The letter reads: "It has come to our attention to our residents of [REMOVED] that the potted plants outside your porch are not real and decoration.

"This will reflect extremely poorly on our houses and other constituencies in the area who have real plants who might wish to see their homes one day, and buyers running away when they see your plants."

  • 'I caught my mum sleeping with my husband - I can't erase the image from my mind'
  • Adding to this, the neighbour claims to have met with 14 other homeowners down the street to discuss the 'issue', concluding "appropriate action is necessary". It continues: "As of this writing, we have decided to grant you two days to remove the selected plants from your porch.

"If you chose not to correspond, there might be an official action taken that will include the police being called to write a lawsuit, or the flowers being removed and discarded quite immediately. You must within two days minimum."

After refusing to remove the plants, the woman received a second note stuck to her window. She said: " I think they realize they can't really take any legal actions (hence the letter). Basically, it says that I am being given a 'warning' until further notice, which is in December for some reason.

"This letter seems less threatening than the other one did. They also encouraged me to buy some plants at my local store, which is not going to happen." While most users praised the woman for refusing to submit to their demands, others urged her to set up cameras outside her property.

One user said: "I love the pointlessness of the phrase 'quite immediately.' It’s definitely someone trying to sound all smart and lawyerly and failing miserably." Another user added: "I hope you have a camera on your porch so you can catch them in the act when they come to remove your property." A third user said: "Your neighbor has a rich fantasy life and I would just ignore it."
