A jar won't break the bank either

LIDL shoppers are going out of their minds over an “absolutely phenomenal” spread which fans say tastes just like a Kinder Bueno.

A shopper with a sweet tooth took to X, formerly Twitter, to spread the word.

They wrote on the social media site: “Get down to Lidl. This is like the inside of a Kinder Bueno.”

They added a photo showing a jar of the “milk crème spread with hazelnuts” which is part of the supermarket’s “Italiamo” range.

The post clearly hit the sweet spot as it has been viewed some 1.6million times and notched up around 16,000 likes.

It also picked up hundreds of comments.

One person wrote: “Absolutely phenomenal stuff. Spread of the gods.”

Another said: “I need that but fear I would eat the whole jar in one sitting with a spoon if I had it at home.”

A third added: “You gotta get some of that Kinder Bueno good stuff!”

While another joked: “Don't listen to her. It's poisonous, you'll all die. I'm obviously immune. So for the sake of public safety, I'll have to eat it all.”

According to Lidl’s website, a 190g jar costs just £1.99.

While a similar “Italian Hazelnut Crème” spread from M&S cost £4.50 but you get a larger 450g jar.

Morrisons also do a “white chocolate and hazelnut spread” which comes in a 400g jar and retails for £2.65.

The news comes after Lidl put an old favourite back on the shelves.

Dubbed a "10 out of 10" buy, the bargain supermarket's unique pistachio spread has left shoppers rushing to their nearest store to snap up the item that is ideal for bagels, croissants or even off a spoon.

Coming in a very reasonable £2.99, the spread has an interesting slime green look to it that may put customers off at first but those who have got their hands on it have declared it is "spot on".

Made up of 45 per cent pistachios, according to online reviews, the 190g jar also by Italiamo is proving a hit with loyal Lidl locals with the nutty sensation quickly going viral.

The comeback comes during Italian Week at Lidl where they are showcasing the best of the nation's products sold under the Italiamo brand.

Items range from the tastiest Amaretti biscuits to delicious tiramisu and coffee flavoured ice creams.

And if you can't get enough of pistachios but also want to add something sweet to your pallet why not give Lidl's pistachios with milk chocolate a try for just £2.99.

It comes as Lidl made a major change to its loyalty scheme earlier this month - offering shoppers extra discounts and free products.

The major discounter, which operates more than 960 UK stores, has launched "Lidl Plus Offers" in a boost for shoppers' pockets.

The feature allows loyalty scheme customers to access additional discounts when scanning their phones at the tills.

The latest addition to the app is different to Lidl's "coupons" which are personalised offers which have to be activated and then redeemed at the till.
