Body hair has become more normalised in recent years, and many people have chosen to flaunt it to prove it's totally natural.
However, there are still many people who hold the belief that body hair should be removed under all circumstances, and will therefore feel uncomfortable flaunting it.
And woman sparked a fierce debate online after questioning whether keeping her body hair meant she "couldn't be a***d", or whether it was acceptable to rock her unshaven legs in the warm weather.
She said that she felt as though she'd "reached a new low", but many people were quick to point out that body hair is completely normal and natural, and should be embraced if that's what you want to do.
Taking to Mumsnet, she sparked the debate, writing: "Would you go out with hairy legs? In shorts/skirt/dress? I think I've reached a new low. Since having my daughter I've had less time to spend on myself as I previously did and I'm less bothered.
Widow brings pillow with late husband's face on it to pub every New Year's Eve"The other day it was hot, I was short of time and went out in shorts…with hairy legs. I'm a brunette so I have quite dark, hairy legs, part of me thought eurgh, but then, ahh cba."
People had varying responses to the question, with some saying that they wouldn't personally feel comfortable doing that, but others said they definitely would.
One wrote: "Personally, no. I don't like it on me. I don't like my hairy armpits either. That said, I am happy without make-up, some women need to put 'their face on' to be seen. As long as you are comfortable, who cares?"
Another said: "I do it all the time, even in my professional job. Do what you like in regards to grooming and don't do the things you don't want to. I don’t dye my grey hairs either but I wear lipstick most days. It's a personal choice. If anyone comments they are rude and should mind their own business."
Someone else pointed out that women are way more multi-faceted than just whether they shave or not, sharing: "I am a 46-year-old pre-menopausal mother of an ASD teen. I am also a Department Director, a global expert in my field, a homeowner, a car owner, a pet owner.
"I am kind, funny, intelligent, caring and loving. I have a wonderful partner, I see my wider family often and we are very close. I can sail a yacht and have a skipper's license. I can ride a horse. I can speak a number of foreign languages and one of those fluently. I am also kind to animals.
"If someone chooses to make any sort of judgement about me based on my body hair then they can have at it...I don't care what they think and I don't care if my legs are hairy. My body hair does not define me."
Another shared: "Men don't have to worry about these things, and I don’t think women should feel the need to either."
