THE elderly father of the movie-maker shot dead by Alec Baldwin has revealed he tried to join the Ukrainian army as he battled his grief.
Anatoly Androsovych, 67, who lives in Kyiv, was left distraught after losing 42-year-old Halyna Hutchins on the film set of Rust in October 2021.

Anatoly, who has military experience as a Soviet-era nuclear submarine captain, was desperate to join defenders preparing for house-to-house fighting.
But he was despondent last night after being told he was too old — and that his naval experience would not help ground forces preparing for battle.

“They started this war and violated all the international agreements.
“As an ex-navy man I have tried to get mobilised, but have been told that I’m too old.”
Baldwin, 64, who fired the bullet that killed mum-of-one Halyna, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and faces up to five years in jail.
He is due in court on Friday — the first anniversary of the Ukraine war.
Anatoly — who initially said he did not blame Baldwin for Halyna’s death — said he had been asked not to comment on the case by his lawyers.
