Some makeup trends come and go, but bronzing drops have always been a summer essential in many people's skincare routines. Enter trending makeup giant Revolution, which recently launched its new Bright Light Bronzing Drops for a modest £10 price tag.
Promising an "instant drop of radiance", Revolution claims these "effortless, customisable drops are your answer to an instant sun-kissed look without the damage". Formulated with a hydrating infusion of Squalane, Hyaluronic Acid and Grapeseed Oil, the drops should work to "soften, soothe & elevate skin’s elasticity for a youthful glow".
But did they live up to the hype? Beauty writer Tiffany Lo decided to try them out for the Daily Star - find out how she got on.
Let's be honest here, I'm not a fan of fake tan, but I'm all for glowing, brighter complexion and I like the healthy sun-kissed glow you'd get after soaking in the sun. The UK weather has been unpredictable so far and I have convinced myself that bronzing drops could be a better way for me to achieve that glow than waiting for the mercury to rise above 20C.
So I tested out the affordable Makeup Revolution bronzing drops. Retailing for £9.99 at Boots or £7.99 at Debenhams, the multi-use drops promise to give a natural glow. On the label, it states that the bronzing drops contain squalane, hyaluronic acid and grapeseed oil.

I like the lightweight and buildable formula so I can swap between subtle and 'contoured' looks (Tiffany Lo/Daily Star)These are the major players to keep my skin hydrated and plump while reducing redness and inflammation caused by irritation or acne. On my first test, I put it on my forehead, across my cheeks and chin. I followed that up with my Erborian concealer to hide my under-eye circles.
I was a bit shocked when I noticed the colour on my face against my neck - I would say my face went three shades darker than my usual light tone. But that also means it worked and the illuminating complexion formula gave me a sheer glow when the light hit my face.
The contrast of the bronzing drops and the brightening concealer made me look like I had a proper tan, and when I met up with my friend, she asked: "Did you go to the Mediterranean? You look well tanned! ".
