PUB giant Wetherspoons has axed 18 drinks from its menu as part of a major shake up.

But it's not all bad news as the boozer chain has added a host of new tipples as well.

A number of spirits have been dropped from menus in May including Lambs Navy Rum, Bombay Bramble and Gordon's Sicilian Lemon.

Duppy Share White, Chase pink grapefruit pomelo gin and Buffalo Trace have also all been cut.

The cocktail menu has received a shake up, with Tanqueray Spritz, Bubblegin, Bubblegin syrup and Smirnoff and Monster pitcher all going.

Two Corona seltzers have also been axed - Tropical Raspberry and Tropical Guava.

Manquila shooters are also no longer available as well as four other craft drinks - Williams Bros Tin Man, Inniss & Gunn Mangoes on the Run, Backyard 3 States and Rooster's Baby Faced Assassin.

One soft drink has faced the chop too - The Dalstons Rhubarb.

But, as is common for restaurant, bar and pub chains, a number of new drinks items have been added to Wetherspoon's menu as part of the menu shake up.

New world beers, spirits and liqueurs, as well as no and low-alcohol drinks and soft drinks are now available for customers.

Cerveza Pacifico Clara, also known as Pacifico, and Stella Unfiltered have been added to menus for £3.45 and £4.38 respectively.

Meanwhile, two new vodkas and a new rum have also been added to the drinks menu.

Customers can now get hold of Au Vodka strawberry burst and XIX Vodka, a beverage made by YouTube stars the Sidemen, from £3.55.

Also added to menus is The Kraken Black Spiced Rum Black Cherry & Madagascan Vanilla (for £4.68), and two new liqueurs - Mozart White Chocolate cream liqueur and Tequila Rose, for £2.65 and £4.10.

Punters can also get their hands on Corona Cero and Thatchers Zero low alcohol drinks, both for £2.48, and a Passion Fruit Cooler 0% cocktail for £2.41, as well as a Monster Energy Ultra Peachy Keen soft drink for £2.37.

It comes after Spoons also changed its food menu offering, rolling out 10 new items on May 1.

Customers can now get their hands on Ramen noodle bowls, Shawarma chicken wraps and three new breakfast items, including American-style pancakes.

The Ramen noodle bowl features noodles, bean sprouts, shiitake mushroom, spring onion, pak choi, bamboo shoots, red onion, sliced chillies and coriander in a broth.

The dish is vegan and low-calorie (466kcal), with customers able to add a poached egg or grilled chicken breast for an extra charge.

The Shawarma chicken wrap contains spiced pulled chicken thigh, Middle Eastern spices, Naga chilli and garlic and herb sauces, tomato, onion, rocket, and fresh mint, served in a 12 or 10-inch wrap.

Both meals are available as part of a meal deal with a choice of soft or alcoholic drink.

There are also a number of new 10-inch wraps available, offered at a lower price than the 12-inch wrap and with less calories.

The range includes a small vegetarian brunch wrap (fried egg, two vegan sausages, cheddar cheese), southern-fried chicken (salad leaves, smoky chipotle mayo) and small fried halloumi-style cheese (salad leaves, sweet chilli sauce, tomato, cucumber).

Three dishes have also been added to Spoons' breakfast offering, which are:

  • Fiesta Brunch, which contains a poached egg, toast, guacamole, pico de gallo, grilled halloumi-style cheese, mushroom salsa
  • Fresh fruit and yogurt containing apple, banana, blueberries, and strawberries with Greek-style yoghurt
  • American-style pancakes four pancakes, banana, strawberries, blueberries, maple-flavour syrup

  • Millionaires dessert, which contains ice cream, shortbread biscuit, chocolate sauce, toffee sauce

In other news, McDonald's launched new menu items last month, including an "unreal" never-before-seen frappe.

Plus, Starbucks also made a change to menus in April, adding a discontinued fan fave to its offering.
