When asked about what she would say to somebody looking to heal from heartbreak, Carly told us: "I think that God doesn't take things from you that were meant from you. I'm very big into that, I believe that what is supposed to be yours will never leave you.
"So there is a reason that something isn't working out and I think, in time, time is so hard, we all want to be over it immediately, or know what's coming on the other end, but that's kind of the whole meaning of faith, and just having faith that you will know."
Carly then emotionally touched on her divorce from Michael when she said: "Every single situation that has been hard in my life, including my divorce, felt like the end of my life, and now I see exactly why that had to happen to me, and that itself has given me so much closure."
In July 2018, Carly and Michael confirmed they had started dating, with them then becoming engaged in December of that same year. The two were then married on October 6, 2019, near Nashville, Tennessee.
In June 2020, Carly filed for divorce from Michael after eight months of marriage. Her album 29: Written In Stone details her divorce, with Carly also speaking out about this time in her life ahead of her new album.
