Eberechi Eze's release clause has been revealed to be worth at least £60million, as Crystal Palace prepare to fend off interest from multiple Premier League clubs.

Eze, 25, was excellent in the second half of an injury-hit season, scoring eight goals and laying on three assists in his final 12 top-flight appearances. His form earned him a place in Gareth Southgate's provisional England squad ahead of Euro 2024 and after an impressive display in Monday's comfortable 3-0 win against Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Palace star made the final 26-man cut.

Southgate's show of faith has given Eze's stock another boost, with Tottenham one of several English clubs seriously interested in signing him in the summer transfer window. But he won't come cheap, as the Daily Mail report that the former Queens Park Rangers wonderkid has a £60m clause in his Palace contract as well as a further £8m in potential add-ons.

Should Eze get his chance to shine at the European Championship in Germany, Palace are braced for an even tougher battle to keep hold of him. The 25-year-old has already impressed Southgate, who won't block any players for taking part in transfer negotiations during the tournament.

"I've never banned players from having discussions," the England boss explained. "It's a fact of life, even if transfers don't complete, talks are ongoing, normally across the summer with players, I'm always there for them if they want to bounce things off.

"I'm always saying to them, don't get het up about things. Things will take their natural course. We are in a world where there might have to be deals done quickly, who knows but we're comfortable with dealing with all those things."

Southgate is a fan Eze's 'swagger' which he demonstrated against Bosnia, his first England appearance in 12 months. "The guys who came into the team played well," Southgate told talkSPORT.

"It was lovely to see Eze go in and play with that swagger that he has at Palace. He's had a couple of camps with us now and it's good to see him getting more and more integrated with the group and feeling more comfortable in the shirt. We saw that beautiful gliding run where he can take people out through the middle of the pitch with the power that he has."

Eze may well get another chance to shine against Iceland at Wembley on Friday, as England hope to sign-off their preparations on home soil with another a win. The Three Lions then face Serbia in their Group C opener on Sunday, June 16, with Eze likely to be a substitute who can impact the game late on.
