The beauty scientist, who is founder of ØNE aesthetic studiø, has revealed that she is often having to tell people the similar advice as she sees it so often.
She says: “Many consumers find it empowering to choose their own skincare products and try different brands and types.
“However, the skincare market is vast and everyone’s skin behaves very differently so a skincare plan needs to be clearly individualised.

“The most common error is the over utilisation of moisturisers.”
The international beauty lecturer, who specialises in anti-ageing treatments like the non-invasive high intensity electro-magnetic 3D EMlift treatment, says that too much moisturising can lead to over stimulation of oils glands and often worsening in a predisposition to acne, rosacea, or redness.
Dr Chantrey says: “Inappropriate products for a skin type can lead to sensitised skin where people then believe they have sensitive skin when in fact, it is not sensitive they are just using the wrong products.”
She believes that retinol is an “excellent” product for anti-ageing.
Retinol, which is also called Vitamin A, increases skin cell production and helps to increase collagen production, which reduces the appearances of fine lines and wrinkles.
Dr Chantrey says: “Too many people stop using it quickly though thinking they are reacting to it when often they actually need to use a lower dose, less frequently.
“People will often say to me it is drying their skin but it is exfoliating the dead skin cells to the surface, stimulating new skin to come through.”
But if beauty fans want to take their skincare routine up a level, Dr Chantrey recommends attending a clinic to get expert advice.
Dr Chantrey, who has been offering a full range of anti-ageing procedures over the last 14 years, says: “I offer everything from my signature injectable facelifts, laser skin resurfacing, multiple devices and injectables to stimulate collagen, skin firming and brightening.”
“A new addition this year has been the 3D Emlift.

“It uses High Intensity Focused Electro-Magnetic technology to stimulate muscles more powerfully than can be voluntarily contracted.”
The 3D Emlift is celebrity approved, and was created by 3D Aesthetics - a company which specialises in the development of non-surgical devices to target an array of concerns.
3D Aesthetics, which has been loved by celebrities including Patsy Kensit, Coleen Rooney and Amy Childs, has a range of equipment which helps with body contouring, fat loss and anti-ageing.

Dr Chantrey continues: “We use this extensively with other treatments in our clinic to create a brow lift & stimulate the midface muscles which help to lift the face in a very natural way.
“This technology also uses radiofrequency to help increase skin firmness.
“Combining the Emlift with our 3D Dermaforce micro needling with radiofrequency device is extremely popular with our patients to increase collagen and create smoother, firmer, brighter skin.
“We treat many different types of patients from all walks of life including lots of people in the public eye under high scrutiny.
"All our patients want safe, effective results with low downtime.
“In my practice I lead with evidence-based medicine and so our protocols and prescriptions have a clear scientific strategy behind them and each one is bespoke to the patient.
“When combining devices such as the Emlift and Dermaforce with individualised medical skincare protocols this can significantly prevent further ageing whilst improving the appearance of the skin far faster than with over the counter skin care alone.”
