If your neighbours occasionally play music and have some pals around at the weekend, you can hardly complain.

However, three to four hours of "profanity-laden" music with "heavy bass" may push you to the edge of your patience, meaning you have to say something to them to ensure they're aware of how much it's impacting you.

However, when one man spoke to his neighbours about that very situation, the music continued to blare despite the fact they were "very apologetic". So he was left wondering what he could do about it and took to Reddit's 'Neighbours From Hell' forum to seek advice, where some people suggested taking petty revenge on the music lovers.

The man wrote: "Our neighbours play heavy heavy bass music for hours a day. It's always profanity-laden which is odd cause they have small kids.

"Can start as early as 10am on a Monday, if not, 3pm-7.30pm without fail. We've asked them to chill before and they were very apologetic but it hasn't stopped. There are ordinances we can put on them but I don't want to cause too much of a rift. That being said, we've lost patience. Advice?" The man went on to explain he owned his home in another comment, meaning he couldn't go to the landlord with his complaints.

One person said he should: "Go ahead with the ordinances. You're not causing the rift, they already did it with insincere apologies but no change in behaviour."

Another, however, said that they would be tempted to take the pettier route, fighting fire with fire. They penned: "Start blasting 'Baby Shark' at 8am each morning for a couple of hours or as soon as you get home each day."

What would you do in this situation? Let us know in the comments.
