Wetherspoons drinkers erupted into applause over a comically long chip seen in a viral video.
The ovation for the massive chip took place at The Ice Wharf in Camden, London, as one punter proudly held it aloft. People in the beer garden were seen bursting into laughter and clapping as the chip was flaunted.
The video was uploaded to TikTok and later made its way onto Reddit too, where the comments were full of adoration for the chip. Some people said the video made them "proud to be British."
One comment read: "Humanity has reached its high watermark, it's downhill from here. We will never see such achievement again."
Another praised the quality of Wetherspoons chips and seemed to understand why the crowds were applauding the pub chain's grub. They wrote: "Gotta hand it to wetherspoons their chips taste so good."

One comment joked: "Every 8th June will be know as Big chip day in that town." Another wrote: "It’s times like this when the commonality of purpose and thought that ties us together on this strange little island really shines."
The size of the chip caused confusion among some users, who couldn't comprehend how something so large had ended up on the plate. "I don't understand where big chips come from," they wrote. "I mean, there's no way that gargantuan thing was cut from a potato, is there? I've never seen a potato that size."
Thankfully, another user was on hand to explain the cause of the unnaturally long chip. "That's what happens when the chips get mashed together before they're frozen," they claimed. "Once they're fried you can't even see the join most of the time."
