Katherine Schwarzenegger has hit out at this year's Met Gala attendees after she shared a picture of her mother Maria Shriver attending the event 23 years ago.
The author took aim at an array of guests at the bash this year who flashed the flesh in scantily clad sheer outfits as she reposted an image shared by her mum on Instagram from when she attended the event in 2001. Katherine - whose father is Hollywood legend Arnold Schwarzenegger - added the caption: "When the met gala was chic and classy."
Maria wrote on the original upload: "It's the first Monday in May and the Met Gala is underway! Things were a little more low key when I attended back in 2001, but I thought I would share some photos from that wonderful night.

"Not only did I get to wear this beautiful dress, but I got to attend with both my parents, as well as my cousin, Caroline. What do you think: would we rock the red carpet in these same looks tonight?"
Kim fans think Rob is in star's new video & share wild theoryIn the snaps Maria was wearing a sleeveless lilac dress with a sheer shawl wrapped around her shoulders. The classic look also saw her wearing her hair in a sleek updo and accessorising with sparkling diamante earrings.
The post comes after Katherine and husband Chris Pratt landed in hot water for tearing down a 'historic home' in Los Angeles. The couple reportedly bought the 1950s Zimmerman House for £10.1million ($12.5million) back in January 2023. They've since demolished the classical home, designed by architect Craig Ellwood, to build a 15,000-square-foot farmhouse mansion.
Pictures now show a building site on the pair's plot in Brentwood, with no sign of the original property. Their decision to destroy the mid-century building, which boasted famous previous owners The Man from U.N.C.L.E creator Sam Rolfe and his wife Hilda, hasn't gone down well with some, slamming their decision to knock down the property.
One asked on social media: "They couldn’t build their SHEIN McMansion somewhere else?" While another complained: "Yet more proof that money can’t buy good taste." Wrecking balls, cranes and pickup trucks have been photographed on site as images show where Chris and Katherine will be building their brand-new property.
The couple reportedly purchased the original home due to its location. With the plot near Katherine's mother Maria Shriver, it appears they'd always planned to build something else, with their new home reportedly designed by architect Ken Ungar.
