Available exclusively at Dyson, the new Dyson Supersonic Nural is their smartest hair dryer yet.
Priced at £399.99, the new Dyson Supersonic Nural builds on the success of the Supersonic and packs it with more technology to help ensure your healthiest hair yet.
How to de-clutter if you have a beauty stash to last you a lifetimeThe new Dyson Supersonic Nural Hairdryer has come equipped with a new Scalp protection mode which uses a network of 'Nural' sensors to monitor and adjust its settings automatically as it nears your head, helping to protect you from heat damage.
These sensors also automatically adjust to the optimum styling temperatures with Attachment Learning, and remember your adjustments and styling preferences for healthy and quick styling.
Plus, it includes Pause detect, the technology we saw in the Dyson Airstrait, which will monitor when it's not being used and pause airflow - making styling safer too.
Its packed full of techCredit: DYSONBut how does it do all this?
The uber-clever scalp protect mode protects scalp health, by automatically reducing the heat to 55C, which Dyson has tested to find out its optimum temperature for scalp comfort and dryer speed.
It also uses a time of flight sensor to help measure this, projecting an infrared beam to measure the distance between the hairdryer and your hair, and adjusting the temperature accordingly.
To help you distinguish between the sensors, this feature uses an LED light colour that will automatically change colour between cool blue or yellow (for low heat), orange (medium) or red (high heat), depending on the distance the machine is from your head.
Heat and preferences are also adjusted with the Dyson Supersonic Nural attachments.
The first time they are used, they will automatically adjust to Dyson's recommended optimum settings.
Making styling simpler than ever, the new attachments remember your styling preferences, remembering their last-used heat and airflow settings, and apply them automatically the next time it's in use.
We've put shampoos and conditioners to the test to help your hair glimmerThere's also the pause detect feature, which has a motion-sensing accelerometer, which will deactivate the heater, decreasing airflow and noise when it's not in use or in between styling.
The Dyson Supersonic Nural also introduces some new attachments.
For the curly-haired amongst us, there's a brand new Wave+ Curl diffuser, which has been completely redesigned.
We're seriously impressedCredit: DYSONThe Wave+ Curl diffuser has been engineered for waves, curls, and coils, which "helps to define and shape natural patterns" in two modes.
It can be used in dome mode, where the "large dome shape of the attachment draws airflow away from the scalp for smoother, elongated waves with rounded ends".
Alternatively in diffuse mode, the pronged insert "delivers air deep into the roots for defined, voluminous curls and coils".
Beauty fans will also be able to use the new gentle air attachment, styling concentrator, wide-tooth comb and flyaway attachment.
Then, there's the design, the new Nural has a clear end cap so you can see all this next-level tech with your own eyes.
Shoppers will be able to choose from bold new colour palettes -
Ceramic Patina and Topaz or the Vinca Blue and Topaz.
Shawn Lim, Head of Research, at Dyson, said: "From our research into the science of hair, we know that there is a connection between the quality of hair and a healthy scalp.
"The scalp tissue comprises different layers, with the outermost layer serving as a barrier against external stressors.
"But when your scalp is damaged, moisture loss can occur, a key factor in our development of the Scalp protect mode feature. This helps to maintain scalp moisture levels and allows for gentle drying."
James Dyson, Founder and Chief Engineer added: "If you’re able to limit heat damage, you can get a healthier scalp; and healthier hair.
"Our new Supersonic Nural has a time-of-flight sensor which recognises your head and reduces the heat as it gets close to your hair, preventing heat damage to both your scalp and your hair.
"Innovation only comes from investing in research and development. Our obsession to truly understand the root of the problem continues, as we build up some of the most sophisticated hair laboratories in the world."
The new Dyson Supersonic Nural is priced at £399.99 and is available to buy exclusively from Dyson.
