Matt, the bassist for Busted, has been lauded by fans for his candidness about his struggles with alcohol and drugs, particularly in his BBC documentary Matt Willis: Addiction and Me, which aired last year. In the programme, Emma was moved to tears as she confessed that she blamed herself for not noticing the signs when Matt relapsed in 2016.
At the start of the year, Emma revealed her recent challenges in finding clothes for her "expressive" son Ace while supporting budding designers on the CBBC show Style It Out. She champions her children's freedom to express themselves through their clothing choices but notes that options for boys are limited.
She remarked: "I think there's a lot of limitations on boys clothing particularly because it's quite boring, isn't it? If you go into clothes shop and the boys department especially, there's not a lot of stuff to let you be creative with yourself."
Emma elaborated: "And if you're going onto the high street and you walk into the department that's meant to be for you, but you are creative, or you want to do something outside of the stereotypical norms that young boys are meant to wear, I think that's that's really tough."
She also mentioned that children today have a "broader spectrum" of self-expression, which can complicate shopping for her imaginative son Ace.
