Molly-Mae Hague looked almost recognisable as she was pictured arriving back at Manchester airport over the weekend.
It’s no secret that the Love Island star loves loungewear, but she was unusually dressed down in a light grey tracksuit which she wore with the hood up and a pair of white flip flops as she left the airport following a work trip to Marrakesh in Morocco on Friday.
The 25-year-old fashion and beauty influencer also went make-up free and wore her long blonde hair scraped back as she walked with her friend Erin Jones, who wore a matching tracksuit. The look was a far cry to the one Molly-Mae posted on Instagram which showed her glammed up in a chic white trouser and matching shirt co-ord set revealing her black bikini top underneath, which she teamed with a black and white beach bag.
Her display of au naturel beauty comes a day after Molly-Mae shared a major update on her previous use of injectables in a candid confession. Taking to her Instagram stories, she opened up on having fillers in the past and told her 7.8 million followers she hadn’t had them now for five years. She also shared a picture of when she had the most injectables in her face.
Along with the clip she wrote: "We've come a long way," along with five shocked face emojis. Speaking to the camera, the mum-of-one said: "The other day I was actually having a moment of reflection on my filler journey and I realise I haven't had filler now in coming up to five years, well over four years. I haven't had any filler put into my face which if you remember my filler debacle, my filler scandal it's quite, not an achievement but it's quite a journey to reflect on really. It's been so long."
How to de-clutter if you have a beauty stash to last you a lifetimeMolly-Mae first had her lips injected when she was just 18 and this sparked a “vicious circle” of topping up the treatment. By the time she was 21 she admitted she didn’t recognise herself as she had so many tweakments. Then in 2020, after appearing on Love Island, she took the decision to have all her fillers removed in her lip and jaw and have her composite bonding veneer teeth removed.
She now thinks she looks five years younger and these days is an advocate for embracing natural beauty. Reflecting on her filler journey on Steven Bartlett’s The Diary of a CEO podcast, Molly-Mae confessed: “I wouldn’t say I got addicted to it, but by the age of 21 I didn’t look like the same person. When I look back at pictures now I’m terrified of myself. I’m like, ‘who’s that girl?’ I don’t know what happened.
“There was this one pivotal moment where I’d gone and got loads of filler and I posted a YouTube video and I hadn’t let the filler settle and it was really swollen and a screenshot from that video trended on Twitter for weeks. It was utterly horrendous. My face was literally just awful. That was the moment for me where I was like, things need to change.
“The minute I started to reverse my image and dissolve the filler and dissolve my lips – I actually had a full set of composite bonding on my teeth. I had them removed as well. I literally took it to the extreme and just stripped myself back and weirdly, I felt the prettiest I’d ever felt, once it had all gone. I felt like I’d dropped about five years off my age and it was a really, really significant moment for me.”
