However, fashion fans are split on the designs.

Tu, the Sainsbury’s in-house fashion label, dropped the £16 Black Faux Croc Slip On Sandals a few weeks ago.

A copycat of the £730 Hermès Chypre style, shoppers will save a whopping £714 by getting their dupe on.

Content creator Aimee Vivian took to Instagram to alert other fashionistas to the shoes which sparked the fierce debate.

“Holiday next week and best believe these are being packed,” she penned.

But some shoppers insist that the mega saving isn’t enough to justify the “plastic” design.

In the comments, Alix McCulloch dubbed the kicks “plastic knock offs”.

Karen Fletcher further claimed that they will “fall to bits” when worn.

But others disagreed, saying that the sandals are in fact comfy AND stylish.

“I've just bought the black sandals and they are very comfortable,” Marie King assured.

“Tu are killing it this season,” Sandy Bourdais added.

“I spent way too much in there last week.”

According to Sainsbury’s bosses, the black sandals “are a fashion favourite for this summer”.

“They come in a faux croc style and feature a strap with one-touch fastening, designed to offer a secure and comfy fit,” they said.

“The perfect pair to elevate your looks this season.”

Similarly, the £15 Tan Crossover Mule Sandals came under fire.

These bargain slip-on shoes are a dupe for the £610 Hermès Oran sandals making them a whopping £595 cheaper.

“I'm 52 but I ain't wearing them granny sandals,” Kerry Davies slammed.

Louise Ford dubbed the style “boring” and moaned that “they are everywhere”.

However, Janet Ketchen was quick to say that these shoes “are really comfortable” too.
