For a young person, their graduation is usually one of the most momentous days of their life.

However, things went wrong at one establishment in the US, as the announcer seemed to be having trouble with the student's names.

It wasn't particularly unique names the woman in question was struggling with too, with her even struggling pronouncing monikers such as Elizabeth and Sarah.

A video of the ceremony was shared on TikTok, then again on X (formerly Twitter). And people couldn't help giggling over the clip, which has gone viral and racked up millions of views.

Starting off the video, the announcer is tasked with calling out the name 'Maeve Elizabeth Brotoski'. You could probably understand if someone got 'Maeve' a little wrong, but what the woman said had no resemblance to the name whatsoever.

Next was 'Sarah Virginia Brennan', however what the woman said instead was along the lines of 'Say-ahh, vi-voo, ginoo, brenun.'

It was then Marissa Lynn-Brabazon-Carr's turn to go up on the stage, with the woman failing to pronounce her name correctly either. Meanwhile, Victorial Elizabeth Bruce's name was pronounced as Victoria Lee Zubikbross."

People were baffled and left giggling over the pronunciations, as one person wrote: "I watched this like 3x …like what is she even saying." Another added: "I am in tears. The delayed name reveals made this even better." A third chimed in: "Someone had to know she couldn't read but set her up anyway." While a fourth asked: "Is this an on purpose thing?"

Meanwhile someone else in the know seemed to think that the pronouncer was given the phonetic spelling of the student's names.

They wrote: "Lmaooo I had to go find an explanation and apparently they just gave her the phonetic spelling of their names…they switched her out after 30 mins and she apologised saying she would have been better reading out of the book of names than the card. I’m crying."

Eek, we don't think she'll be putting herself forward for any public speaking again anytime soo
