Prince Harry is having a "nightmare" over Father’s Day as he "struggles to schedule a call with King Charles", claims a royal expert.

The Duke of Sussex moved away from England four years ago, trading rainy British weather for the sunshine in Montecito, California. Moving across the pond with his wife Meghan Markle, the couple stepped down from their roles as senior working royals just months before the move.

Prince Harry has rarely returned to the United Kingdom since moving away from his home country, with Harry only returning on a handful of occasions. This year, for example, he has only returned twice.

Harry came back to England in February after learning of his father's cancer diagnosis - this was when the Duke spent around 30 minutes with his dad during a very speedy visit. He then returned last month for an Invictus Games event at St Paul's Cathedral but did not meet with the King due to their conflicting schedules.

And now it has been claimed that Prince Harry is enduring a "nightmare" as Father's Day approaches. Royal author and expert Tom Quinn exclusively told The Mirror: "King Charles' birthday and Father’s Day are both a nightmare for Harry. He knows the world will be watching to see whether he is big enough to reach out to his father. He is determined to try to ignore his troubled relationship with his father and he will certainly send a warm message. It’s easy to forget that Harry really does love his father, he just hates the fact that Charles seems always to support William when there is a family dispute."

He then claimed that "Harry has tried to schedule a call with his father already, but his father is prevaricating with Camilla advising against anything that might upset King Charles." Father's Day falls on June 16, with the King's birthday taking place on June 17, and his official birthday - the day he was born - taking place on November 14, when he'll turn 76.

The Mirror has contacted Prince Harry's representatives for comment.
