Liverpool ’s away kit for the 2024/25 season has been leaked, with Nike making a bold decision for the shirt.
The American manufacturers have been the Reds’ providers for the past four seasons. They have already revealed Liverpool’s home kit for Arne Slot ’s first season at the helm.
And now, Reds fans have been given a sneak peak at the club’s away strip before its official release. Photos and videos surfacing on social media display a dark grey effort.
Turquoise trim adorns the shoulders and the sleeve cuffs, while the Liverpool, Nike and Standard Chartered logos are all in white. While a somewhat unfamiliar colour, it is not the first time that Liverpool have been handed a dark grey kit.
The new strip looks instantly comparable to the 2019/20 third shirt from New Balance that was also grey with turquoise flourishes. The Reds were also given a grey and black chequered shirt during the first season of the Nike agreement the following campaign.
Premier League odds and betting tipsLiverpool’s home shirt for the upcoming campaign was released last month and was worn in the club’s final home game of the season - a 2-0 win against Wolves. A statement from the Reds confirming the release read: “Liverpool FC presents the brand-new 2024-25 home kit, a fresh remix of the legendary pattern and print from 1984 – available to pre-order now.
“The retro kit design, remixed for the modern game, features a chrome yellow pattern of the club’s YNWA motto etched into the fabric of the shirt. Its jersey has a unique collar with traditional yellow and red detailing, a nod to the iconic collar worn by the ’84 team led by Joe Fagan, who lifted the European Cup in Rome that year wearing this original kit. Both the shirt and shorts have yellow and white side panelling.”

In response, Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk said: “I’m a big fan of our new kit for next season and love the fact we’re bringing the retro vibe back. We are a club built on history and the 1984 team was one of our most successful ever. I’m sure our fans will appreciate the nod to those club legends.”
Reds fans will certainly be keeping an eye out over the coming weeks for any more sneak peeks of both their away and third kits ahead of the new season. Fixtures for the 2024/25 Premier League campaign are released on Tuesday 18 June.
The season is scheduled to get underway on Saturday 17 August. Before that, Liverpool have a clutch of friendlies to consider - where they will be displaying their new strips. The Reds take on Real Betis, plus Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester United in a pre-season tour of the United States.
